The 8-Day Uganda Gorilla Trekking & Chimpanzee tracking tour is one of our small group and tailor-made tours. The trip is for anyone in search of gorilla trekking, hiking, and chimpanzee experience led by a local tour operator. Any person no matter the age they are in can take this trip.
Uganda, strategically located in East Africa, is known for its incredible wildlife, including the majestic gorillas that inhabit the dense forests of the region. Gorilla trekking in Uganda is a once-in-a-lifetime experience that allows visitors to get up close and personal with these incredible creatures.
The trek involves hiking through steep terrain and dense vegetation, but the reward is well worth it. As you approach the gorillas, you’ll be struck by their sheer size and power, as well as their gentle nature. Watching them interact with each other and go about their daily lives is truly awe-inspiring. And beyond the gorillas themselves, Uganda has much to offer visitors, from stunning national parks to vibrant cities and towns. Whether you’re an avid nature lover or simply looking for a unique travel experience, Uganda should definitely be on your list of must-visit destinations.
On arrival at Entebbe international airport, you will transfer to Hotel Horizon Entebbe.
In the morning after breakfast, you will set up at Kibale NP reaching in the afternoon. After lunch, you will go for a nature walk in Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary will reward you primates’ encounters including different monkey species and various bird species including the fabulous blue turaco among others. Dinner and overnight at Turaco Treetops.
After breakfast, you may choose to engage in a chimpanzee habituation experience where you spend the whole day with the chimps or simply go tracking where you will spend one hour with the chimps. The former entails tracking chimpanzees a full day as you get involved in all chimp activities and behaviours. If you prefer simply chimpanzee trekking, you will be able to spend about 4 hours in the forest and later transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park. Dinner and overnight at Enganzi lodge.
Early in the morning, you will go for a game drive following the Kasenyi trail in search for lions, different antelope species and herds
of buffaloes among others. In the afternoon a boat cruise along the Kazinga channel between lakes George and Edward will reward with a plethora of birds and different mammal species. The concentration of wildlife along this channel is overwhelming! Dinner and overnight.
In the morning after breakfast, you will set off to Bwindi impenetrable forest national park passing through the Ishasha sector with a game drive in search of tree-climbing lions. Thence proceed to Bwindi national through the picturesque and breathtaking scenery. Dinner and Overnight stay at Bakiga Lodge.
Early morning, set off to the park headquarters for briefing and later enter the gorilla sanctuary for your gorilla trek. You will be allowed to stay in the presence of the gorillas for at least an hour before returning to your lodge. In the evening, you may go for a nature walk or cultural walk to the Batwa community or transfer to Lake Bunyonyi for Dinner and an overnight stay at Bunyonyi Rock Resort.
In the morning after breakfast, you will set off back to Kampala with en-route lunch and photography, reaching in the evening. Overnight at 2Friends Beach Hotel.
This will mark the end of the Uganda tour. Transfer to Entebbe International Airport.
